General Product Questions.
Do you make everything by hand?
All items listed for sale here are handmade by Heather and Col. We indicate when something isn't made by us, i.e. some of our dishes and flatware, etc.
Is your studio smoke and pet free?
It certainly is! No cigarette smoke or pets are ever in our space.
How big are your items?
Puttering offers hyper realistic foods in one sixth scale, otherwise known as playscale or Barbie scale. We meticulously study and measure real-life items before creating them in miniature. When we make our 1/6th scale items, we go not just by what the exact calculation is, but by what looks proportional in our dolls' hands. Because playscale dolls are usually proportioned differently than we are, often an exact 1/6th measurement appears a little too big. We take that into consideration because we want your items to look as realistic as possible. Puttering's miniatures work perfectly for Barbie, Momoko, Blythe, Everafter, Phicen, Fashion and Monster High dolls, etc.
What materials are used in your items?
We use a combination of materials to get the most realistic looks possible. Our main material is polymer clay. We also use microbeads, various glazes, glass paints, acrylics, craft sand, and adhesives. Specific materials used are always indicated in the description of each item sold.
Do you take custom orders?
We do take custom orders! We are more than happy to create unique pieces for you. Simply contact us to begin making arrangements for your custom listing. Please note: during our busiest seasons [weeks leading up to major US holidays] we sometimes have to schedule custom orders out a few weeks to keep up with demand. Custom orders are best placed at least six weeks before you will be needing your item/s to ensure they are ready on time.
